The way to love someone
is to lightly run your finger over that person's soul
until you find a crack,
and then gently pour your love into that crack.

24 and the RED SEA rules

1. Realise that God means for you to be where you are. (uh...bummer) 2. Be more concerned for God's glory then your relief. 3. Acknowledge your enemy, but keep your eyes on the Lord. 4. Pray 5. Stay calm and confident, and give God time to work. 6. When unsure, take the next logical step by faith. 7. Envision God's enveloping presence. 8. Trust God to deliver in His own unique way. 9. View your current crisis as a faith builder for the future. 10. Don't forget to praise Him.
A couple of years ago I spent a while away from home, consequently, away from the TV. there was a TV in the room, but no reason to turn it on ... two whole weeks with no TV ... It was like a detox. Eventually I did experience Top Chef withdrawal, but I didn't miss the continuous news blabber. The neighbors recycle their newspaper right on to my front door step (uh, sans coupons, which has recently become an item of interest, but...). She works the sudoku and the cryptogram ... with those done, I have little use for the local paper. Everything is so readily available on line now. Husband is currently reading about last night's local shooting which involved football players ... The paper won't report that today ... happened after the cycle. I am a huge fan of acquiring my own "news" online. I have also figured out how to acquire "Top Chef" and it costs considerably less then our monthly cable bill did. My husband always has something to watch on Netflix ... So he is happy w/o TV. Recently an out of town friend was in for a visit ... She couldn't believe there wasn't a TV in the house. I pulled up some ELMO to entertain her boys ... . Mentioning all this because I'm rambling towards a thought ... L series du jour is 24. We watch one during lunch and usually another one later in the day ... I timeshare with Pinterest or Drudge. We had 8 or 9 seasons of 24 to watch and I've noticed a few things as we viewed this, uh, pretty good series. One is that these guys end up "not where they planned to be" ... and ... then they are willing to do anything ... A n y t h I n g ... for relief. And ... That's pretty realistic. The story line is always about the acquisition of "more". More always comes at the expense of innocents, and Jack, the main character, is there to ... make it stop. Jack makes MacGuyber look like a little sissy boy. Even Chuck Norris would defer to Jack. Jack does some stuff consistently. For one thing he never wastes a second on "being" anywhere other then precisely where he is. Jack lives in the moment while he looks a bit ahead to the next few probabilities. Not saying he's not awesome at figuring out where the writers will take us ... Just saying he never says ... This can'tbe happening. Jack deals with ... It. Another thing he does quite well is ... He doesn't concern himself with his relief or relief for anyone else. Pretty much.  24 seems to me to be a pretty good (secular) representation of these ten RED SEA rules.
