is to lightly run your finger over that person's soul
until you find a crack,
and then gently pour your love into that crack.

Chair

What I got done on it today ... it's been tedious!  And ... I'm second guessing the "wild" fabric choice.  It's for the den and the colors look great with the rug ... everything else in there is very neutral.  I guess I am just a very monochromatic, neutral palette kinda girl.  So out of the box for me that I may be able to actually sell it!

D, I really like the "wild" fabric choice, and think that that is one great chair!

Thank you sir! Can you believe 5 bucks for that chair ... marked down from 7.5. We've re-doweled, re-glued ... sanded, refinished, replaced the cushions and fabric. This is the chair that L made the triangular grooved connection piece for. It sits sturdy and good to go for another shot at usefulness. Right this minute I am trying to get up the steam to finish it. Probably have a couple of more half days left to go.
Thank you for the feedback on the fabric!

I was thinking that was the chair which included the custom repair piece, made with wood from the yard if I'm not mistaken.

I'm certain you'll get it done in short order.

It really is a great chair.

The very one! I didn't know he was so awesome at woodwork. Now I am working out a little furniture design and he is shopping for a serious chainsaw! We have a planer and probably every other tool we would need. I like some of the furniture that is custom made for the Brooklyn Home Company http://www.thebrooklynhomecompany.com

Interested in re-creating our own rendition of pieces sort of like those.

The Brooklyn Home Company does have some interesting pieces.

I've used an old cutting board, which I sanded down and refinished, for a shelf in my kitchen, and though I do not have much in the way of woodworking tools, just a couple of chain saws, I'm always picking up pieces of wood, here and there, and bringing them home to use for something, or other. Plus I have a good friend who sells sticks (lumber) who brings me interesting pieces of wood from time to time which I also add to my "collection."

Maybe instead of interviewing for a job, you should open a little chair shop. You have a knack for making old chairs new again, D, and if I stopped by your shop, I'd probably purchase a chair, or two, based on the examples you've posted here.
